“When I sit down to work, I want my phone to stop being a distraction at all, so I can finish the job.”The job behind FocusInOne
Less friction to focus.
More friction to wander.

CHANGE THE STARTING POINT

Begin at your desk.
Leave the phone out of it.

THE CHECKING LOOP

One quick look becomes another.

  • Pick up to get started

Setting a timer on your phone puts every other app within reach.

  • A home screen full of invitations

Feeds, badges and familiar icons compete with the task you chose.

  • Reset your attention

Each small check is another departure from your work.

THE FOCUSINONE APPROACH

Make the next step your work.

  • Start from your computer

Use the browser controller, without picking up the phone to begin.

  • A deliberately plain home

Press Home for the focus launcher and the apps you allowed. It is bypassable friction, not a hard lock.

  • Give breaks their own space

Work and break phases share a timer. At the break, the full app list returns.

ONE SESSION. FOUR PARTS.

Designed to keep you with the work.

Built Android beta behavior, with permissions enabled. Physical-device checks remain before public release.

A minimal Android launcher

During work, Home shows a plain launcher with Phone, Messages, Clock and up to five apps you choose on the phone. Other apps can still be reached through Android.

On-phone allowlistDeliberate friction

Quieter notifications

Notification sounds and vibrations are silenced during work. Removable notifications from other apps are removed and counted; allowed apps remain visible. Calls and alarms still ring.

Control from your computer

Start, pause, resume and stop from the web controller on macOS or Windows. Sign in to the same account on both devices. The controller reports the phone’s acknowledgement.

Browser controllerNo latency promise

A shared Pomodoro rhythm

Work and break phases drive the session. Pause holds the current phase, so pausing during work keeps focus active. Stop or the end of work restores the full app list.

A SMALL ROUTINE

From your desk to deep work.

Invited Android testers follow the install and permission guide first.

  1. 01

    Set up both devices

Install the invited beta, grant home-app and notification permissions, and sign in to the same account on the phone and web controller.

    One account, two devices
  2. 02

    Start from your desk

Choose your work and break lengths, then start the session in the controller. Press Home on Android to see the focus launcher.

  3. 03

    Work. Then take a break.

The phone follows the session rhythm. On a break, the full app list returns and you see a count of silenced notifications. Open your apps to catch up.

PLATFORMS & ROADMAP

Android first. More follows.

Build evidence is different from public availability. No promised launch dates.

ANDROID FIRST

Android + web controller

  • Android

Minimal launcher and notification silencing. Invite-only until real-phone checks, release signing and hosted setup pass.

    Private beta
  • Web controller

Computer-side control in a browser on macOS or Windows. Public access waits for hosted configuration.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Installed desktop + Apple

  • macOS & Windows

Unsigned desktop builds exist for testing. Public installers need signing and testing on those computers; macOS also needs notarisation.

    Not public
  • iPhone & iPad

Simulator builds exist. Screen Time blocking has not been verified on real devices; entitlement and signed-device checks remain.

TRANSPARENCY & CLARITY

A few things to know.

Can people still reach me?

On Android, calls and alarms ring as usual. Allowed apps’ notifications remain visible but silent during work. There is no contact-based call filter. These rules still need physical-device verification before public release. Ongoing notifications, such as calls, music or navigation, may remain visible.

What happens to silenced notifications?

New notifications from apps outside your allowlist are removed and counted. At the end of work you see a count, not a replay or digest of their content. Open the apps you care about to catch up. Notifications already present before work are not cleared.

Can I stop or get around a session?

Yes. Stop from the controller or use the phone’s emergency exit: wait 30 seconds, then confirm. It works offline. Pausing during work keeps focus active. Android’s recents, Settings and other routes can bypass the launcher. FocusInOne adds deliberate friction; it cannot make distraction impossible.

Do I need a desktop app?

The web controller is the first computer-side option. Installed macOS and Windows builds are for testing and are not publicly released. Public web access also waits for hosted configuration.

Why start from a computer?

Because that is where your work already is. Starting there avoids picking up the phone just to set a timer.

Is there an iPhone or iPad version?

Not available to users yet. Simulator builds do not verify Screen Time blocking. Join the waitlist and choose your platform.

What data goes to the cloud?

Account, device and session metadata are synced, including Android allowlisted app package names and labels. Notification title, text and sender are not sent or saved. See the privacy notes for the page and waitlist.

Know what you share.

  • This page sets no cookies and loads no analytics, fonts or scripts from other sites.
  • The waitlist receives your email, selected platform and referral source. They are used for beta invitations and platform availability updates.
  • Account sign-in and session sync use Supabase. Stored data includes email and sign-in credentials handled by the auth provider; device name, platform, app version, last-seen time and permission status; session phase, times, lengths and end reason; Android allowlisted app package names and labels; and push tokens when registered. Apple app-selection tokens stay on the device.
  • Notification title, text and sender are not sent off the phone or saved. This does not mean the product sends no data to the cloud.
